Bayview

We were blessed to have Paul Birston’s leadership in Bayview’s Spiritual Renewal Weekend on October 26th and 27th, 2019. Forty attended on the Saturday and fifty were present on Sunday for worship. Paul aptly used his many photos to portray landscapes and archaeological finds of Israel, Greece and Turkey, illuminating the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures. For many who had never before visited the Holy Land it provided a vivid picture for the many Biblical references used. The prayers, singing and fellowship were an encouragement to all who attended. We were pleased to have four congregations represented, as well as friends and family members, one person from the neighbourhood and a visitor from Trinidad.

In the month of December in addition to our regular contributions Bayview responded to appeals from Great Lakes Bible College, The Daily Bread Food Bank and missionaries supporting widows and orphans in India. We are also contributed holiday food baskets for needy families at a local elementary school.

Barrie

Fall of 2019 started off in a busy way for us in Barrie. We had an encouraging gospel meeting in early October 2019 with Rob Gieg of Sundridge as our speaker, with about a dozen community visitors who attended. The ladies had their yearly ladies’ day, this time entitled “The Secret Garden.” Angie Vivie was baptized on Sept.17, 2019 followed by Dominque Valiquette on the 22nd. Dominique’s husband, Eric, became a Christian last Fall, 2018. We’re thankful for these blessings from God.

As 2020 marches on, a word of encouragement for the Church. Let’s start 2020 with a commitment to spend more time in prayer and in reading God’s Word each day. 20 in 2020. Start each day, even before your feet hit the floor, with two minutes in prayer. Set aside ten minutes each day to read God’s Word. At selected intervals increase in your daily reading/prayer time until we reach the goal. When you go to bed – spend 2 minutes in prayer. If you want to change your life, your family, and your world – spend time in prayer and in God’s Word.
