Olive Cordelia Parker, in her ninety-third year, passed away at Albright Manor, Beamsville with her loving family at her side on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Olive was born on August 27, 1929 in St. Vincent Township (near Meaford, Ontario) to Frank and Jean Cann. She was the beloved wife of Harvey (2014) and dear mother of Dianne (Jim) of Beamsville, Wayne (Helen) of LaSalle, Gloria (John) of Niagara-on-the-Lake and Steve (the late Ann Parker July 27, 2022) of Cambridge. Beloved grandmother of Melissa (Dennis), Darren (Tina), Jeff (Terri), Heather (Jason), Kaitlyn (Mario), Kerri (Steve), Tracy (Garrett), Jeanette (Ken), and Juliana (Andrew). Sadly missed by 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Beloved sister of Lloyd Cann of Beamsville. Predeceased by siblings Carlos, Orville, Wilda & Leona. Her service was held at the Beamsville Church of Christ on Tuesday, May 24 with Don Smith and George Mansfield officiating. Family members presented readings, songs, stories and memories of their mother and grandmother. Peter McDonald led some of Olive’s favourite hymns.Olive will always be remembered for her amazing abilities as a seamstress and a quilter. She had a work ethic that was second to none. As a two time survivor of cancer, she served as an inspiration to to others battling this disease. She was known for her hospitality and kindness toward others. She will be forever missed and forever loved by all who knew her. |
